Ustadh Owais is the Co-Founder, Director and Instructor at Al-Ihsan Institute. He teaches various programs, including the Alimiyyah Program. As part of his leadership role, he oversees the overall direction and key operations at Al-Ihsan. In addition to this, he is an Arabic and Islamic Studies teacher at Al Siraat College in Melbourne.
Owais is raised and educated in Melbourne, Australia. He began his journey as a seeker in 2003 in Melbourne. He completed the Alimiyya course in Melbourne, and studied 1 year at Jamia Binoria in Karachi, Pakistan. He then completed the Bachelor of Islamic and Arabic Sciences at CSU.
Having taught in various spaces over the past decade, he strongly believes there has been a shift in the way learners learn, and therefore, we should adapt the way we teach. He believes better learning experiences will result in a better buy in towards Education.
Shaykh Zain is a Co-Founder, Head of Studies and Instructor at Al-Ihsan Institute. He teaches various programs, including the Alimiyyah Program. As part of his leadership role, he is involved with the overall direction of the institute. He is also responsible for directing and implementing syllabus, curriculum and other study related matters.
Shaykh Zain graduated from the Alimiyyah Program in 2009 in Melbourne. He has also studied in various institutes abroad. Shaykh has over 10 years experience of teaching the sacred sciences. He has taught in various environments. He is heavily involved with youth and community work. His motivation is to create positive change within the community.
Mufti Haris began his engagement with the sacred sciences at a very young age. He completed the Hifz of Qur’an the age of 11. Mufti completed the Alimiyyah Program at Darul Ulum College at 18 years of age. He then pursued and completed his iftaa studies in South Africa. But as is the case with voracious learners, that was just the beginning of an odyssey of not just incredible discovery but also of promoting knowledge and education amongst the masses. Even during studies, he was engaged in teaching young children and adults. In 2016, he travelled to the Indian subcontinent for voluntary community work. In addition to teaching at various institutes, he also manages an after hour Maktab. Mufti Haris spends his free time obsessing over language and history and aims to contribute to the corpus of knowledge by writing an original work in Arabic grammar for English speakers.
Ustadh Mohib is the Student Support Officer and Instructor Al-Ihsan Institute. He teaches the male Alimiyyah Program. As part of his student support role, he is responsible for culture, wellbeing, and engagement activities. In addition to this, he also teaches Arabic and Islamic Studies at an Islamic School in Melbourne.
Shaykh Mohib was born in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. He migrated to Australia when he was 3 years old. He grew up in the regional New South Wales area on Central Coast where his father was a member of the Central Coast Islamic Council. He stayed there until he completed year 10. in 2007 he moved with his family to Melbourne, and began the Alim Program at Darul Ulum, Melbourne. He completed his studies in 2013. He then taught Quran at Darul Ulum for a year and 2 years at a Maktab. In 2016 he moved to the regional Queensland town of Mackay, where he served as the Imam for 4 years. He kept himself busy in teaching the community the sciences of Tafsir and Hadith, while teaching children at the Maktab. In 2020 he returned to Melbourne and began teaching at Al Iman College in Melton, as a Quran and Arabic teacher and joined the teaching team at Al-Ihsan.
Ustadh Muhammad is an Instructor at Al-Ihsan Institute. He teaches the male Alimiyyah Program. He is also an Arabic and Islamic Studies teacher at Al Siraat College in Melbourne.
Shaykh Muhammad completed the Alimiyya course under the tutelage of Mufti Aasim Rashid in Canada. He then completed his Hifz of Quran at Jamia Binoria in Karachi, Pakistan. Maulana Muhammad is now completing his Bachelor of Islamic Studies in Charles Sturt Uni. Maulana’s advice to current and future seekers is to persevere, keep asking Allah and never give up.
Shaykh Yasir Al Hanafi is a senior Aqeedah teacher Al-Ihsan Institute.
Shaykh completed his Hifz & Alimiyyah program at the Islamic Institute of Dewsbury over the period of 10 years graduating in 2011. Thereafter, Shaykh did his BA (Hons) in Philosophy and Psychological Studies and then went on to complete his MA in Philosophy at the University of Warwick.
Currently, Shaykh is pursuing his PhD in Philosophical Theology at the University of Birmingham. Alongside his other duties as the full time Imam of Masjid Toheed Ul Islam (Aylesbury) and teaching at various other Institutes, including As-Suffa.
May Allah Azzawajjal accept his efforts, grant him the ability to continue serving the community and bestow His Grace upon the teachers and students of Shaykh Muhammad Yasir Al-Hanafi.
Ustadh Muhammad is an instructor at al-Ihsan institute, He is currently teaching in male alimiyyah program.
Ustadh Muhammad graduated from alimiyyah at Darul Ulum College of Victoria in 2017, He then completed his Bacholars and Masters in Islamic studies from Charles Sturt University. In 2018 Ustadh travelled to Karachi Pakistan to pursue further education and joined the 2 years Takhassus Fi Ulum al Hadith program in Jamia Tul Ulum al-Islamiyyah Allamah Binnori town where he completed his thesis in Arabic related to Jarh wa ta’dil. After which He joined the Ifta program in the same institution which he completed in 2022. Ustadh was fortunate to benefit from prominent scholars in the region such as Sheikh Abdul Halim al-Chishti an-Nu’mani, sheikh Anwar Badakhshani, mufti Abdul Rawuf al-Ghaznawi and Mufti In’am ul Haq al-Qasimi to name a few. He has been teaching at the local Maktabs since 2016, He is currently teaching in Darul Ulum College as a Quran and religious studies teacher.
Tawfiq holds a Bachelor of Business degree majoring in Accounting. He is a member of Chartered Accountants of Australia & New Zealand (CAANZ), National Tax Association of Australia (NTAA) and Tax Practitioners Board (TPB). He started his accounting career in an ASX listed company in a commercial accounting role. After 2 years he decided to move on to the chartered industry where he was trained by partners from ex big 4 firms. He has over 10 years experience in chartered firms and he completed his CA program in 2012. Tawfiq also worked in MYOB as an implementation/training consultant where he travelled the whole Australia and trained more than 100 accounting practices.
Outside work Tawfiq loves to spend time with his wife and children. He enjoys reading, plays cricket and rides bike occasionally. He also does community work in his local community.
Shaykh Shabbir Limbada is a senior Tafsir, Hadith and Fiqh teacher at Al-Ihsan Institute. Shaykh is immensely blessed by Almighty Allah’s innumerable bounties and favours, many of which are unique to him, and he feels indebted to Allah swt for these blessings. One of these blessings is lifelong learning and companionship with prominent Ulama and great luminaries from various parts of the world.
His learning journey began at the age of 5, when his mother enrolled him in a local maktab in his birthplace in India. He continued his religious education at the only masjid/maktab in Preston, Lancashire, UK, where he learned the Quran, tajweed, Fiqh, Aqeedah, Seerah, Urdu, and practical training in the basic tenets of Islam until 1974.
In 1973, his cousin brother, brother-in-law, spiritual guide and Ustaz, the late Hazrat Sheikh Maulana Yusuf Motala RA, purchased a former sanatorium to start a Darul Uloom. Due to Hazrats efforts, tawjjuh and his late parents duas, he eventually enrolled as the very first student once it opened.
After graduating from the UK’s first Darul Uloom in Bury, Lancashire, he was sent by Hazrat Yusuf Motala to al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, on a scholarship to specialize in Tafseer of the Qur’an at the graduate/post-graduate level. During his seven years in Cairo, he also taught English and Arabic at the American University in Cairo (AUC) to support his family.
After returning to the UK, he continued to be involved in many different roles, including teaching Mishkat, Islamic history, translation, and interpretation. He currently teaches Mishkaat and Dawrah classes at Madressah Naqeebul Islam, Blackburn, UK in the female Aalimah program. He is passionate about teaching Islamic sciences and is active in the field of education and imparting Islamic knowledge and da’wah. He hopes to remain in this realm of knowledge and continue his dawah work in the future.
Shaykh Muzzammil Ahmad is a teacher at Al-Ihsan Institute. Shaykh has completed an MA in Islamic Law at SOAS, University of London. He’s also a graduate student at Al Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt where he’s completed postgraduate studies in Uṣūl al-Fiqh, and is currently working on his master’s dissertation. His previous studies include Dar al-‘Ulūm Nadwat al-‘Ulamā, a traditional seminary in Lucknow, India where he graduated with an ‘Alimiyyah in 2017 and before that the Qalam Seminary and Bayyinah Institute in Texas where he learned Arabic and studied other Islamic sciences. He has memorized the Qur’ān, and is traditionally licensed in the major works of Ḥadīth, Fiqh (with a focus on the Ḥanbalī and Ḥanafī schools), ‘Aqīda, Uṣūl, Tafsīr, Arabic, and more. He is able to research and communicate in numerous languages including English, Arabic, Urdu, Farsi, and (intermediate) French. He currently works as an Imam at the East London Mosque in London, England while teaching at several institutions locally and online, along with pursuing various research and translation projects.
Ustadha Sadia is teacher for the female students at Al-ihsan institute. She was one of the first teachers since the female classes begun at the institute and has taught various subjects this far. She currently resides in Sydney and teaches Quran and Islamic studies to women and young girls at the local maktab as well as privately.
Sadia has been fortunate enough to be engaged in the sacred sciences since childhood. She has completed the memorisation of the Holy Quran at Darul Ulum VIC at the age of 11. She then continued to pursue knowledge at the madrassa and graduated from the 6yr Aalimah course in 2016.
Shortly after graduation Sadia moved to Sydney, and although family life had become a focus in adulthood she had always remained in touch with seeking and teaching knowledge. She has since taught children and adults alike in the maktab Iqra Youth Centre and also IWWA Sydney. She has also undergone teacher training in the methods of teaching Islamic studies at iwwa.
Sadia believes in helping busy adults of the current era to keep in touch with their religion and expand their Islamic knowledge despite the restraints of a demanding schedule, so they can in turn raise the next generation upon the right path, equipped with the correct tools to navigate life in a manner pleasing to the Almighty.
Ustadha Saleha Seedat is a graduate of Madressah Mueinul Islam, South Africa.
In 1999, on the recommendation of her teachers, she moved to California and has since travelled and lived in many countries. Currently, she and her family reside in Türkiye.
She has founded and directed Islamic learning institutes for young girls and women in South Africa and California. She has extensive experience teaching at International schools in Dubai too.
Ustaathah Saleha is also an accomplished Pilates Instructor facilitating for Muslim women’s physical and mental well-being.
When she’s not L&T, she’s a multitasking Mom of 6 who loves reading, baking and playing the 3-marker challenge with her young daughter and son.
Apa Shabina is a faculty member of Al-Ihsan Institute. She is also a teacher for the female students at Madrasah Naqeebul Islam since 2007. Apa is a teacher of Hadith and has been teaching Mishkaat Shareef for over 10 years. As well as this, Apa teaches and has taught various other subjects.
Apa graduated in 2002 from Madrasah Mueinul Islam, South Africa, after a 5 year Aalimiyyah course and then moved to the UK in 2006. Whilst residing in South Africa, Apa also taught at the main madrasah in the province.
Since childhood, Apa Shabina has always had the passion of organizing seminars and programmes and although family life became a focus in adulthood, Apa always remained in the service of Deen and is a familiar face to all students.
She currently resides in Blackburn where she teaches Quran and Hadith to young girls and women benefiting from the Aalimiyyah course.
Apa Shabina is very versatile where she is able to adapt her teaching methods to suit her students whether it be online or in person. Apa has taken her experience in teaching further where she teaches for Al-Ihsan institute in Australia.
Despite a very tight schedule, Apa also offers additional support for those students that may require it.
For young girls to lead their homes and guide the next generation towards a path that will please The Almighty, Apa Shabina believes that they must succeed in their faith and increase their knowledge. Allah accept from Apa and always give her A’fiyah.
Ustadha has a remarkable ability to teach the Arabic Sciences. Ustadha is also great at developing curriculums and personal development.
Through her experience and passion for teaching, Ustadha has developed strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ustadhah Asmah teaches Shafi’I Fiqh at Al-Ihsan Institute. She completed hifdh and ‘aalimiyyah at Darul Ulum College of Victoria, graduating in 2018. Since then, she has completed a Bachelor of Islamic Studies, a Master of Teaching and various short courses in Tajweed, Hadith and Fiqh. Asmah is passionate about the accessibility of ‘ilm at a community level, especially amongst women and children. She has extensive experience teaching Quran and Islamic studies on a voluntary basis, including with the Deer Park Maktab. Currently, she is also an Islamic Studies and Uloom ud Deen teacher at Al Iman College. When she isn’t teaching and learning, Asmah can be found in the kitchen from where she runs her cake decorating business.
